The Pacific University volleyball team wrapped up the Oregon Trail Classic with a pair of wins over Elmhurst and UC Santa Cruz on Saturday in Forest Grove.
The Boxers (3-1) hit at a .279 and a .239 clip in the two wins to spark a solid all-around effort from Pacific. Senior Morgan Medicino showed why she was named to the All-Tournament Team with an eight kill, four dig and two service ace effort against Elmhurst and a 11 kill, 18 digs, two block assists and a service ace effort in the nightcap against UC Santa Cruz.
In the win over Elmhurst, Pacific had 36 kills including 14 from
Karlee Duncan, who nearly had a double double with nine digs. Duncan and Mendicino were not the only standouts in the win for the BlueJays.
Milana Ivkovic added seven kills and
Ellie Parker provided 30 assists.
The nightcap was a complete team effort that saw four Boxers with double double performances including Mendicino, who had 11 kills and 18 digs;
Jordan Zweifel provided 13 kills and 13 digs;
Karlee Duncan added 11 kills and 11 digs;
Ellie Parker with 37 assists and 16 digs.
Milana Ivkovic added eight kills, six blocks and four digs from her middle blocker position.
The Boxers will wrap up the weekend with an 11:30 a.m. match on Sunday against Mills College.
