Emily Thompson scored her team-leading third goal of the season as the Pacific University women's soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision to Pacific Lutheran on Sunday.
Pacific (1-9, 1-5 NWC) found itself behind 2-0 when Thompson picked up the rebound on a shot by
Devon Medina, curling off the PLU defender to the near post. For Thompson, it is her ninth career goal in her three-plus years at Pacific.
Pacific Lutheran (6-2-2, 5-1 NWC) went ahead 2-0 when Ellie Johnson and Leah Magee connected on back-to-back goals within two minutes of each. Johnson scored her first goal in the 21

rd minute and in nearly identical fashion, Johnson scored as her efforts brought out the Pacific goalkeeper
Saya Brown, who had nine saves in the loss.
After Pacific cut the deficit to one on Thompson's goal in the 59
th minute, PLU added a goal in the 80
th minute by Liz Griffith.
Next, the Boxers will travel to face Linfield (Saturday, Oct. 6 at noon) and Willamette (Sunday, Oct. 7 at noon).
