The Pacific University men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to host Whitman on Saturday afternoon.
The Boxers (1-9-3, 0-6-2 NWC) managed to give up a goal in each half amidst windy, rainy, and chilly conditions in Walla Walla. Pacific had seven shots – four of which were on goal – in the loss.
The Blues (9-5, 6-2 NWC) went ahead in the fifth minute on an Adam Joss goal in the fifth minute. Joss was one of players with multiple shots to lead an attack for Whitman, who had 14 shots including five on goal.
An Austin Betschart goal in the 71
st minute provided the final margin for the win. Whitman goalkeeper Owen Davis-Bower made four saves for the shutout victory.
Next, Pacific will face Whitworth on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in Spokane.
