A goal in the closing minutes by Jackie Gilroy of Willamette proved to be the difference in a 1-0 loss for the women's soccer team on Saturday afternoon.
The Boxers (3-10-1, 1-9-1 NWC) had six shots and junior goalkeeper
Saya Brown recorded six saves in the loss.
The Bearcats (9-5-1, 8-2-1 NWC) were engaged in a possession-oriented attack, breaking through in the 44
th minute on the goal by Gilroy. In a scramble in front of the box, Gilroy cleared it and went to the upper right of the frame just past Brown for the goal.
Pacific senior
Courtney Olsen had a pair of chances at an equalizer in the loss. The Bearcats' goalkeeper tandem of Kristen Barclay and Graisela Quevedo-Ramos each played 45 minutes in the shutout and combined to make five saves.
Next for Pacific will be a trip to Pacific Lutheran on Sunday at noon in Tacoma.
