In a matchup of the two top volleyball teams in the Northwest Conference visiting Whitworth rallied for a 22-25, 25-21, 25-19, 25-21 win over Pacific University on Saturday.
The Boxers (16-6, 9-3 NWC) won the opening set for the sixth time in its last seven matches in the loss. Pacific started the match, hitting .341 as junior
Jordan Zweifel had seven of her 23 kills.
Zweifel finished the match with 23 kills and 10 digs for a double double, plus freshman
Shaianne Cambra had her first career double double in the loss with 49 assists and 21 digs.
Whitworth (17-5, 11-1 NWC) was led by Emiko Kahler, who had 15 kills and 21 digs in the win. Kahler and the Pirates managed to hit .205 just slightly below the Boxers, who hit. 210.
Iris Tikhonov and Abby Wovlerton had 11 and 10 kills in the win, plus Madison Douglas had seven kills and five blocks to lead the visitors in the win.
Next, Pacific will play its final two road matches of the season when they travel to Puget Sound on Friday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. and Pacific Lutheran on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 6 p.m.
