Whitworth and Pacific Play to 0-0 Tie

The Pacific women's soccer team and Whitworth played to a 0-0 tie on a chilly Friday evening in Forest Grove.

The Boxers and the Pirates combined for 23 shots in the 110-minute contest, Whitworth posting a 16-7 advantage in shots and 7-4 in shots on goal.

Both teams sought opportunities throughout the contest. The Boxers' Nadya Ortiz and Nicole Henry each had two shots in the tie. Pacific goalkeeper Saya Brown made seven saves in the contest.
 
The Pirates' had an opportunity in each extra session that sailed high over Brown and the goal en route to the tie. Jadyn Baumgartner and Brixada Mendoza each had three shots in the contest. Plus, Isabelle Arends made four saves in the contest.
 
Coming into the contest, Whitworth had won the last 10 matches before a 0-0 tie on October 25, 2013 in Forest Grove.

Pacific will next host Whitman on Sunday at noon at Ledbetter Field at Hanson Stadium.
