Pacific Loses to Concordia, 114-106

The visiting Tornados of Concordia overcame a 13-point deficit to rally to defeat the Pacific men's basketball team, 114-106 on Friday night.
 
The Boxers (2-2) were led by a 21-point effort by senior Marcus Wallace, who scored the final 10 points of the opening half as Pacific went into the halftime break with a 60-49 lead. Pacific got 20 points – one shy of his career-high of 21 – from senior Andy Isokpehi, who went 7-for-11 from the field in the loss. Colin Rardin, who made his first Pacific start, scored 10 points to go along with five steals and four assists.
 
Concordia (2-1) was able to land four players in double figures including Antoine Henderson, who had a game-high 32 points. He also added 10 rebounds for a double double effort. Joining Henderson in double figures was Philip Meikle, who had 21 – 19 of which came in the final 20 minutes – Luis Gonzales and Zaid Harris each added 12 in the win.
 
Rardin, who had a season-high 10 points, made a layup to start the second half before the visitors came back with a 17-4 run to tie the game for the sixth time and at 66 with 16:05 left to play. The contest went back and forth that featured two more ties and an additional two lead changes until Henderson put the visitors ahead 74-73 on a layup with 13:19 to play.
 
The Boxers' rallied to cut the deficit to one, 84-83, with 10:23 to play on an Isokpehi layup. However, the visitors had answer to the Boxers threats for the remainder of the contest.
 
Next, Pacific will face Sul Ross State at 8 p.m. in the final game of the Ken Schumann Classic on Saturday.
