Courtney Carolan scored a game-high 19 points to lead the Pacific women's basketball team to a 64-39 win over Johnson & Wales (Colo.) on Saturday.
The Boxers (3-2) snapped a two-game losing streak with the win, limiting the Wildcats to 20 points in the first half. Pacific raced out to an 8-0 lead, leading from start to finish in the win.
The Wildcats (0-5) were led by Katey Guzman, who scored a team-high 17 points in the loss for Johnson & Wales.
With an 8-0 lead to start the game, Pacific took a 16-6 lead through the opening quarter. The first seven baskets by the Boxers came from seven-different scorers. In the second quarter, Pacific built the lead as large as 15 and at double digits for the remainder of the contest.
In addition to the 19 points from Carolan, it was a balanced offensive effort for Pacific. Freshman
Madison Cabardo added nine and five-different Boxers had five points in the win. Carolan also added six assists, a block and a steal, plus
Camy Aguinaldo had five points and a team-high seven assists in the win.
Next up for Pacific is a pair of non-conference matchups against Multnomah on Friday, Dec. 13 at 6 p.m. and Northwest Christian on Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 3 p.m.
