Boxers Rout Multnomah, 77-40

The tandem of Camy Aguinaldo and Courtney Carolan combined for 36 points to lead the Pacific University women's basketball team to a 77-40 rout of Multnomah on Friday night. 

The Boxers (4-2) shot 41.8% (28-for-67) including 42.3% (11-for-26) from beyond the three-point line in the win. Carolan knocked down four 3-pointers en route to 17 points and Aguinaldo added two 3-pointers to go along with a 6-for-13 effort from the field en route to 19 points. 

The Lions (3-6) were led by a 10-point, 7-rebound effort from Rachelle Tau. Plus, Alaygza Portis had eight points and two assists for Multnomah.

Following a 2-2 tie to start the game, Pacific scored 15 of the next 17 points and never trailed in the contest. The Boxers controlled the contest from start to finish as they forced 19 turnovers, turning them into 31 points. 

Pacific, who started the game with a 2-0 lead following an administrative technical foul, filled up the start sheet with 11 assists and 11 steals to go along with nine-different scorers along with Aguinaldo and Carolan. Sydney Gray (pictured) came off the bench to lead the Boxer reserves with nine points as Pacific outscored Multnomah, 25-8 in points off the bench.

Next up for Pacific is its final game before the holiday break when they will host Northwest Christian on Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 3 p.m. at the Stoller Center.
