The Pacific University women's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision to Lewis & Clark in a non-conference match on Sunday at the Holce Tennis Courts.
The Boxers (1-1) got its first win of the day at No. 1 doubles as the duo of
Chantelle Baclay and
Marissa Hayashi were 8-6 winners over Riley Hanks and Madelyn Landerfelt.
Lewis & Clark (1-0) won the other two matches and five of the six singles matches in the win.
The other win for Pacific on the day came by Hayashi in singles as she cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 6 singles for the Boxers.
Conference play for both teams will begin next week as Pacific will travel to George Fox on Saturday, Mar. 2 at 11 a.m. in Newberg.
