The Pacific University women's basketball team dropped a 64-37 decision to host Willamette on Tuesday night in Salem.
The Boxers (7-15, 1-12 NWC) were led by sophomore
Courtney Carolan, who accounted for a team-high 14 to lead Pacific.
The Bearcats (10-12, 5-8 NWC) shot 48.2% and landed three players in double figures in the win including Britanny Kochenderfer, who had a double double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Joining her in double figures was Elizabeth Logsdon and Amanda Carpenter, who had 15 and 14 points, respectively.
Willamette held Pacific without a 3-pointer for the first time, ending a pair of streaks of 198 consecutive games with a 3-pointer and 40 games with at least one 3-pointer.
The Bearcats scored the first eight points of the contest en route to the win. Despite the early deficit, the Boxers had a strong second quarter as they were outscored by a 16-14 margin. In the quarter, Carolan scored six of her 14 and Pacific shot 41.2% from the field.
Willamette managed to outscore Pacific by 12 points, 20-8 in the third quarter en route to the win. Kochenderfer scored six of her 16 to lead the Bearcats.
Next, Pacific will host Pacific Lutheran on Friday night at 6 p.m. as the Boxers will wrap up the 2018-19 season with three-straight home games.
