The Pacific University softball team swept a doubleheader from Puget Sound on Sunday, winning game one by a 13-2 margin and the nightcap, 17-0. The last time that Pacific put up 30 runs in a doubleheader was on March 16, 2008 against Lewis & Clark. The 17 runs in the nightcap are the most by a Pacific softball team since a 19-run effort against the Loggers on February 28, 2015.

The Boxers (14-5, 8-0 NWC) spread the offense with potent bats across the lineup in the doubleheader sweep, the pitching staff limited Puget Sound to just five hits in 10 innings of work.
Game one saw seven-different Boxers record a hit including four with multiple hits. Among the four were
Jill Uyeda and
Montana Vaught, who also each had three RBI to lead the offense. Pacific managed to score four runs in the first, third and fourth inning in the win.

The nightcap saw the Pacific offense pick up where it left off in game two with an 18-hit attack and three Boxer pitchers held the Loggers to just one hit in the 17-0 win.

The hot bat of
Montana Vaught continued for Pacific as the sophomore went 4-for-4 with two runs scored and seven RBIs. 10-different Boxers had a hit including Vaught, who was joined by teammates
Nicole Martinez, Katelynn Macatis-Smith and
Kiana Kushiyama, who also had multiple hits.
Pitchers
Rylee Patton,
Annika McNeel and
Cheyenne Datan allowed just one hit and struck out four in the shutout.

Next, Pacific will host Pacific Lutheran in a four-game series at Sherman-Larkins Stadium. The series will begin on Saturday, Mar. 16 with a doubleheader at noon.
