The Pacific University women's tennis team lost to Puget Sound, 6-3 on Sunday at the Holce Tennis Courts.
The Boxers (2-5, 0-3 NWC) started the day with a win at #1 doubles by
Chantelle Baclay and
Marissa Hayashi, who were victorious by an 8-4 margin.
The Loggers (4-3, 3-1 NWC) won the other two matches in doubles, winning at #2 by an 8-5 advantage and at #3 by an 8-4 score.
Pacific managed to take an early lead in the match, winning at #4 singles by
Adrienne Powell, who was a 7-6, 6-2 winner.
Johanna Wilson followed that up with a 7-5, 6-2 win at #5 that put the Boxers ahead 3-2 before the visitors won the remaining singles matches for the victory. The win by Wilson is her team-leading fifth on the season and just behind her is Powell, who has four victories.
Next, the Boxers will travel to Orlando, Florida for where they will play five matches in five days, starting on Thursday, Mar. 21.
