The Pacific University women's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision to host Whitworth on Saturday afternoon in Spokane.
The Boxers (2-3, 0-1 NWC) fell behind early after losing all three of its doubles match. One of the more tightly contested matchups was a narrow 8-7 (7-2) loss at #3 doubles by the tandem of
Johanna Wilson and
Adrienne Powell (pictured).
Powell picked up the only win for the Boxers on the day with a win at #4 singles. The freshman was trailing her match 4-6 before her opponent chose not to continue the contest.
Chantelle Baclay at #1 singles was a tough-luck loser, falling by a 6-3, 2-6, 1-0 (10-5) margin.
Next, the Boxers will face Whitman on Sunday, Mar. 10 at 10 a.m.
