Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Boxers Lose to Whitman, 23-7

For the second time in seven days, the Pacific University women's lacrosse team faced Whitman. On Sunday, the Boxers dropped a 23-7 decision to the Blues on Sunday in a neutral-site matchup in McMinnville.

After not playing in last Sunday's matchup, Pacific junior Roya Tahmassebi returned to the lineup. Head Coach Brittany Hartmann made the game-time decision in sync with the Boxers' athletic trainer Briana Orlob to put the high-scoring forward back in the lineup.

Tahmassebi made an immediate impact, scoring five goals for her seventh hat trick of the season. The five goals tie a season-high for the Mountain View, California native.

In addition to the five-goal game by Tahmassebi, the Boxers' Julien Dagan and Vivian Mai each scored in the loss. Pacific falls to 2-11, 1-10 in the Northwest Conference; whereas Whitman raises its record to 9-4 overall, 7-2 in the Northwest Conference.

Both teams scored in the opening minutes before four-straight goals by the Blues put Whitman ahead for the remainder of the game.

The Blues' Hannah Miller scored a game-high six goals to go along with two assists to lead Whitman, plus Sage Ali added five goals and three assists in the win.

Pacific will wrap up the season, next Sunday, when they face Puget Sound at 1 p.m. in Tacoma.
