Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Alexa Erickson Scores Five Goals in 14-12 Loss to Puget Sound

Puget Sound scored four unanswered goals after a 10-10 tie to come away with a 14-12 win over the Pacific University women's lacrosse team on Sunday.

The Boxers and Loggers were tied for the second time on the day when Pacific's Roya Tahmassebi scored her fourth goal of the contest with 15:08 left to play. With the game knotted at 10, Ali Walker of Puget Sound came back with three-straight goals and Maggie Hatt added another to put the visitors ahead by a four-goal margin.

Despite the four-goal margin, there was plenty of fight on the Boxer roster with just over eight minutes to play. Freshman Alexa Erickson (pictured) closed out the game, scoring two more goals en route to a team-high five goal effort in the loss. The five goals by Erickson are the most of her young career after scoring four in her Pacific debut against Wartburg.

Walker finished the game with six goals to lead the Loggers, plus Jenna Kisner added five in the win for Puget Sound. Pacific goalkeeper Madyson Ivey made 11 saves in the loss and her counterpart for Puget Sound Charlotte Donnelly had three saves.

The four-goal effort gives Tahmassebi her a hat trick in five of the six games for Pacific, who falls to 2-5 overall and 1-4 in the Northwest Conference. Puget Sound improves to 5-5 overall and 3-4 in conference play.

Next, the Boxers will travel to McMinnville on Tuesday night for a 6 p.m. matchup against the Wildcats of Linfield.
