The Pacific volleyball team out hit Whitman in each set and had twice as many service aces en route to a 25-21, 25-17, 25-16 win in Walla Walla on Saturday night.
The balanced offensive attack to go along with 28 assists from
Makenna Mahuna and 15 digs from
Haley Walz proved to be too much in the win. For the match, Pacific out Whitman by a .198 to .102 margin and had eight aces compared to four by the Blues.
Eight-different players for Pacific had a kill, who improves to 10-4 overall and 3-1 in the Northwest Conference with the win.
Jordan Zweifel led the attack with 10 kills,
Milana Ivkovic and
Nanea Lum each had seven, plus
Elika Unti added six to the winning cause. Walz had a team-high three service aces to go along with her 15 digs.
Whitman, who falls to 0-10 overall and 0-4 in the Northwest Conference, was led by Elyse Benavides, who nearly had a double double with a match-high 11 kills en route to a .313 hitting percentage to go along with seven digs. Sophia Dominitz added five kills and four blocks in the loss.
Next, Pacific will come home to Forest Grove to host Puget Sound (Friday, Nov. 4 at 7 p.m.) and Pacific Lutheran (Saturday, Nov. 5 at 6 p.m.).
