Pacific Men's Soccer and Linfield Play to 1-1 Tie

26 seconds after Linfield ended a 0-0 game, Pacific University sophomore Grant Rutledge  oal scored the equalizer as the Boxers and Wildcats tied 1-1 on Sunday afternoon in McMinnville.

Linfield (4-4-1, 2-1-1 NWC) got on the scoreboard as Gerardo Perez scored, following a deflected shot by teammate Gabriel Fuerte-Hernandez.
 
Pacific (1-6-2, 0-3-1) came right back as Rutledge took a shot, just past the Wildcats' keeper to tie the game at 1. Rutledge finished the game with a team-high four shots in the contest.
 
The Wildcats managed to get off three more shots but the Boxers had the answer with its defense led by its senior goalkeeper Jack Cuevas, who had three of his 11 saves in the final 55 minutes of the contest.
 
The Boxers are home for its next three games, beginning with a matchup against Whitworth on Friday, Oct. 4 at 4:30 p.m.
