With less than a minute, Pacific University sophomore
Emma Gusman fired a shot to the lower left of the goal following a pass from
Lydia King and
Peyton Seals to spark the Boxers' to a 2-1 win over Cal Tech on Thursday night.
The Boxers (1-1) got on the scoreboard when freshman
Taylor Lyle successfully converted on a crossing pass from teammate
Maliah Jobe in the third minute of the non-conference matchup.
The Beavers (0-3) got the equalizer in the 88
th minute when Krystin Brown found the back of the net on a shot from 14 yards out to tie the game at 1.
The offensive attack for Pacific saw four-different players record a shot on goal in the win. Late in the contest, the Boxers'
Nicole Henry had a shot that was punched away by the Beavers' keeper to keep Pacific from adding to its lead in the 80
th minute.
The Boxers will be back in action on Sunday, Sept. 8 at 4 p.m. when they host Northwest Christian at Ledbetter Field on Hanson Stadium in another non-conference matchup.
