The Pacific University men's wrestling team traveled to Portland to face Warner Pacific on Wednesday. The host Knights came away with a 29-9 dual meet victory over the Boxers.
Of the seven matches contested, the host Knights were victorious in three by forfeit. Pacific got wins at 149 lbs. by 
Brandon Hertz and at 165 lbs. by 
Samuel Cortez. 
Hertz got the first points on the scoreboard for Pacific, posting a 6-1 win over Aaron Vang. Then, Cortez came away with a first period pin of Edward Schmelzer at the 1:45 mark en route to the second victory of the night for the Boxers.
Also seeing action for Pacific was 
James Calhoun at 157 lbs. and 
Romeo Hernandez at 184 lbs. 
The four will lead Pacific as they host the Boxer Open on Sunday, January 19.
