After the Pacific men's basketball team took a brief lead midway through the 1
st half, the visitors from Whitman pulled away en route to a 118-90 win on Friday night.
The Boxers (4-9, 1-3 NWC) were led by senior
Davis Holly who led all scorers with 22 points, plus fellow senior
Andy Isokpehi, who contributed 12 points in the loss for Pacific.
The Blues (9-4, 4-0 NWC), found themselves with five players in double figures, led by Darne Duckett with 21 points. The other Blues to join him in double figures were Trevor Osbourne with 13, Andrew Vickers and Robert Colton, who each had 12 and Nikola Trifunovic, who contributed 11 points .
The Blues shot  (17-for-33) 51% the field in the first half and continued its hot shooting in the second half at a 69% (25-for-36) in the win.
Despite trailing for most of the first half, Pacific gained its first lead of the night on a 3-pointer from Brennen McNabb with 10:31 remaining in the first 20 minutes. The visitors managed to regain the lead and remain in front for the rest of the contest. Â An aggressive Boxer defense saw Pacific down eight, 54-46, at the halftime break before a 14-5 run to start the second half put the Boxers behind double digits for the rest of the game.
Next up for Pacific is a home contest against Whitworth on Saturday with a scheduled tip off at 6 p.m.
