Boxers Snap Four-Game Losing Streak with Win Over Willamette

The Pacific University men's basketball team defeated Willamette University, 124-113 to end a four-game losing streak. The Boxers were able to force 22 Bearcats' turnovers which Pacific turned into 35 points in the win.

A jumper from Andy Isokpehi capped a Boxers' 19-4 run in the first four minutes of the game. The Boxers defense helped maintain their lead forcing 14 turnovers in the opening 20 minutes.  The Boxers led from wire to wire in Friday's game never relinquishing their lead and seeing it stretch to as much as 23 points late in the second half.
 
The Boxers (5-11, 2-5 NWC) finished the game with seven players in double figures. Davis Holly led the Boxers with 29 points to go along with seven rebounds. Freshman guard Nick Drynan had a hot first half after scoring 19 of his 22 points in the first 20 minutes.  Pacific scored 71 points in the first 20 minutes to match its highest output since November 18, 2018 in a game against UC Santa Cruz.

Isokpehi finished the game with 14 points, John Rigatti added 13, Terrence Gilder scored 11, Devin Fortune and Andrew Dufort each had 10.
 
Willamette (1-15, 0-7 NWC) was led in scoring by Jack Boydell who led all scorers with 32 points en route to a double-double with 13 rebounds. Cade Whicker recorded 18 for the Bearcats with 13 of those coming in the second half.
 
The Boxers look to continue their winning ways on Saturday with a scheduled 6 p.m. tip off at Pacific Lutheran.
