Nick Drynan scored a season-high 29 points on the strength of seven 3-pointers as the Pacific men's basketball team dropped a 116-87 decision to host Linfield on Saturday night.
Drynan was joined in double figures by
Colin Rardin, who had 15 points to go along with eight assists in the loss as Pacific falls to 5-14 overall and 2-8 in the Northwest Conference.
Linfield raised its record to 14-5 overall and 8-2 in the Northwest Conference as the Wildcats were able to land seven players in double figures including a perfect night from the field by Aaron Baune, who was 11-for-11 from the field including 3-for-3 effort from the 3-point line, en route to 26 points. He was joined by Aaron Autencio, who had 21 points and 14 assists and was a steal shy of a triple double with nine.
Drynan led the Boxers to a 50-48 halftime lead after a 5-for-5 effort from the 3-point line. Pacific shot a 48.6% from the field for the first 20 minutes. A 16-0 run early into the second half put the host Wildcats ahead for the remainder of the game. Baune scored 19 of his 26 in the final 20 minutes to lead Linfield to the win.
Next, Pacific will travel to George Fox on Tuesday night for a doubleheader. Tip off is scheduled for 8 p.m. in Newberg.
