Camy Aguinaldo scored a game-high 23 points, making 9 of 19 shots from the field including 3 of 8 from the 3-point line to lead the Boxers to a 78-67 win over host Whitworth.
She was joined in double figures by junior
Courtney Carolan, who had 15 points,
Brilie Kovaloff added 13 and
Sydney Gray scored 11 as Pacific raised its record to 15-7 overall and 9-4 in the Northwest Conference.
Whitworth (12-10, 5-8 NWC) also had four players in double figures including Quincy McDeid, who had a team-best 21 points. She was joined by Sydney Abbott (15 points), Courtney Gray (15 points) and Megan Dorney (10 points).
The game was tied on six occasions in the first six minutes of the game until senior
Alexa Hinkley made a layup following one of the seven assists from freshman
Rilee Price. The Boxers scored the next four points to take a lead for the remainder of the contest. Pacific managed to build the lead as large as 15 in the second quarter, outscoring the host Pirates by a 22-13 margin and take a 41-30 halftime lead.
In the win, Pacific capitalized on 24 turnovers by Whitworth, scoring 27 points on the miscues. Plus, Pacific had 14 steals in the win – four each from Price and Aguinaldo.
Next, Pacific will travel to Walla Walla, Washington to face nationally-ranked Whitman on Saturday at 4 p.m.
