The Pacific University women's tennis team picked up a 6-3 non-conference win over Highline CC on Friday evening at the Holce Tennis Courts.
Pacific (2-0) started the day, taking two of three doubles matches. Among the winners include
Sydnie Binder/
Johanna Wilson at No. 1 by a 8-0 margin, and
Adrienne Powell/
Jessica Eligio at No. 2 by a 8-6 margin.
As the match shifted to singles, Pacific secured the win in the match with victories in its first three singles matches. Binder posted a 6-0, 6-0 win to start singles play at No. 1 singles. Next,
Adrienne Powell put the Boxers on the verge of victory with a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles. The Boxers secured the match, winning at No. 3 and 6 singles by
Megan Meatte and
Gillian Mead in a pair of three-set matches. Mead clinched the match with a 2-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-8) win, plus Wilson ended the day with a 6-1, 4-6, 1-0 (10-3) victory.Â
The Boxers next match will be Feb. 29
th at George Fox which will be a non-conference match.
