With 1:09 left in the contest, Jenna Kisner of Puget Sound broke a 9-9 tie for the game-winning goal to lift the Loggers to a 10-9 win over Pacific University on Wednesday in Tacoma.
The two teams were tied on four occasions, including at 9 when the Boxers'
Katrina Boyd scored her first collegiate goal with 4:35 left in the second half.
Pacific (0-1) was led by the first career hat trick by
Dakota Dantzer in the loss.
Madisen Castro and
Amber Lancia each added two goals.
Puget Sound (1-0) had three players with multiple goals including Kisner along with Lauren Mastin and Maddie Hider.
The Boxers jumped out to an early 3-1 lead as three-different players scored, including Dantzer. The host Loggers came back to take a 5-4 lead before Pacific regained the lead at 7-5 with 14:57 left in the contest.
Next, Pacific will host North Central on Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. in the home opener. The Cardinals, who come to Forest Grove from Naperville, Illinois, are on the West Coast as part of a trip where they will take on three Northwest Conference teams including the Boxers.
