Dakota Dantzer and
Roya Tahmassebi each scored two goals to lead the Pacific University women's lacrosse team in a 15-6 loss to host Willamette on Sunday.
The Boxers (0-3, 0-2 NWC) went ahead early in the contest as Dantzer and Tahmassebi each scored in the first 2:02 of the match for the early lead.
Madisen Castro added a goal, 25 seconds after the Tahmassebi goal for a 3-0 lead in favor of the visitors.
The Bearcats (2-1, 2-0 NWC) answered with four unanswered goals to take a 4-3 lead as Miranda Piros scored her second of three goals at the 16:26 mark of the first half.
Tahmassebi tied the game for the second time on the day on a successful conversion on a free-position shot with 14:15 remaining. The Bearcats regained the lead on three-straight goals by Catie Kawamura.
Willamette remained in the lead for the remainder of the game despite a goal in the closing seconds of the first half by
Katrina Boyd and another goal by Dantzer with 25:25 left in the second half. The Bearcats outscored the Boxers by a 6-1 margin en route to the win.
Maddie Garcia and Kawamura each scored four goals for the Bearcats in the win.
Next, Pacific will host Marian University, which is in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday, Mar. 10 at 6 p.m. at Hanson Stadium.
