NEWBERG, Ore. - The Pacific University women's soccer team put in a decent defensive performance, but struggled in the attacking third of the pitch as they were unable to register a shot in their 2-0 defeat at George Fox.
The Bruins were on the front foot and made their attacking presence felt, recording 21 shots with 10 on target on their home pitch.
Catherine Corlett (Sophomore/Gilbert, AZ) made eight saves to preserve the shutout for 83 minutes.
Unfortunately, the pressure would prove to be too much for the Boxers as George Fox broke through in the 83rd minute as Maggie Phillips curled a beautiful free kick into the back of the net to take the lead.
Pacific attempted to equalize by sending more attacking players forward, but conceded another goal as a result and George Fox would earn all three points.
