FOREST GROVE, Ore.- The Pacific University men's and women's swimming teams competed in their first Northwest Conference dual meet of the season on Friday evening, but George Fox would come out victorious in both the men's and women's competitions.
The Boxer women fell 117-87 while the men were defeated by the score off 154-22.
RESULTS
Women
Alex Moehnke (Sophomore/Banks, OR),
Madelyn Russell (Sophomore/Simi Valley, CA),
Allison Simon (Sophomore/Chula Vista, CA), and
Julie Abrigonde (Junior/Reno, NV) opened the meet with a first-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay, clocking in at 1:57.00.
Julia Crumb (Senior/North Bend, WA) got the victory in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 20:08.65.
Anne Marie Grieder-Jacobs (Freshman/Portland, OR) followed with another first-place finish, this time in the 200-yard freestyle.
In the 400-yard freestyle, Moehnke got the win with a time of 4:58.90 and picked up another win in the 100-yard freestlye.
Grieder-Jacobs continued her good day in the pool with a first-place finish in the 1:07.74.
Men
Josh Joireman (Junior/Pullman, WA) began the meet with a second-place time of 1:52.16 in the 200-yard freestyle. Connor Gates (Junior/Aberdeen, WA) followed with a third-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle.
In the 500-yard freestyle,
Ethan Hunter (Senior/Silverton, OR) took third with a time of 5:55.77.
