FOREST GROVE, Ore.- The Pacific University volleyball team defeated the Willamette Bearcats in three straight sets Friday night in the Stoller Center, 25-21, 25-20, 25-17.
The Boxer offense came out hot in the first set as they tallied 16 kills and hit .275 in the set. They held the Bearcats to 10 kills in the set. The Boxers fell behind early in the set, 3-5, then they rallied off 6 straight points behind the serve of
Shaianne Cambra to take the lead. The Boxers finished off the set 25-21.
In the second set, the Boxers held the Bearcats to a .073 hitting percentage. The Boxers were up 24-17 at the end of the set but allowed the Bearcats to claw their way back to 20 points. The Boxers closed the set off of a monstrous block from
Elika Unti and
Chloe Elmore.
In the final set of the match, the Boxers took charge of the set early as there was only one lead change throughout the set. The Boxers took control of the match behind the 7 straight serves from
Chloe Elmore where she tallied 2 straight aces.
Sarah Hon (Freshman/ Fraizer Park, California) finished off the match for Boxers with a crowd-pleasing kill.

Pacific was led offensively by
Mara Murphy (Freshman / Salt Lake City, Utah) who tallied 13 kills on 33 attempts.
Carissa Ramirez (Senior/ Hillsboro, Oregon) posted a career high hitting percentage of .615 as she had 9 kills on 13 attempts.
Elika Unti (Senior/Castro Valley, CA) chipped in 7 kills of her own.
Shaianne Cambra (Junior/ Kapolei, Hawaii) paced the Boxer offense with 33 assists.
Haley Walz (Senior/Tuscon, AZ) led all players with 19 digs.
Up Next
The Boxers conclude the regular season as they host the Lutes of Pacific Lutheran on Saturday at 6pm. The four Boxer seniors will be honored prior to the match.
