FOREST GROVE, Ore.- The Pacific University women's soccer team fell to Whitworth by a 1-0 score line on Saturday afternoon inside Hanson Stadium
 
Pacific (6-11-1, 4-10-1 NWC) were lively on the attack but couldn't seem to apply the finishing touches. The Boxers recorded eight shots with seven on target while Whitworth (10-6-3, 7-5-3 NWC) racked up nine shots with five on frame. 
 
The visitors proved to be quite dangerous in transition, eventually scoring the game-winning goal and holding on for victory.
 
The Pirates finished off a brilliant attacking move in the 20^th minute when Gabriel Coprivnicar's initial shot was saved by Catherine Corlette (Sophomore/Gilbert, AZ) but Kalena Pfaeltzer was there to tap in the rebound on the back post.
 
Lydia King (Senior/Hillsboro, OR) had a decent chance to level the score in the 69^th minute but the Whitworth goalkeeper denied the opportunity.
 
Pacific was unable to find their equalizer and the Pirates would walk away with all three points.

• King tallied three shots on goal to lead the team.
• Tessa Bretschieder (Freshman/Eugene, OR), Katelyn Volchok (Sophomore/Portland, OR), and Ivette Garcia-Gomez (Sophomore/Hillsboro, OR) each fired a shot on target.
