FOREST GROVE, Ore.- The Pacific University women's soccer team fell to Whitworth by a 1-0 score line on Saturday afternoon inside Hanson Stadium
Pacific (6-11-1, 4-10-1 NWC) were lively on the attack but couldn't seem to apply the finishing touches. The Boxers recorded eight shots with seven on target while Whitworth (10-6-3, 7-5-3 NWC) racked up nine shots with five on frame.
The visitors proved to be quite dangerous in transition, eventually scoring the game-winning goal and holding on for victory.
The Pirates finished off a brilliant attacking move in the 20
th minute when Gabriel Coprivnicar's initial shot was saved by
Catherine Corlette (Sophomore/Gilbert, AZ) but Kalena Pfaeltzer was there to tap in the rebound on the back post.
Lydia King (Senior/Hillsboro, OR) had a decent chance to level the score in the 69
th minute but the Whitworth goalkeeper denied the opportunity.
Pacific was unable to find their equalizer and the Pirates would walk away with all three points.
