Boxers Fall to Bulldogs; Cap Off Trip to Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash.- The Pacific University men's basketball faced a very talented Redlands team on Sunday afternoon to close their trip to Spokane, but this time it was the Bulldogs who would snatch the 76-66 victory.

The Boxers didn't have their best shooting night as they went 25-73 (34.2%) from the floor and 8-31 (25.8%) from three-point range. Pacific had trouble holding on to the basketball with 22 turnovers in the contest, and Redlands would make the most of those opportunities with 24 points off turnovers.

Mario Mora (Senior/Bend, OR) tallied 13 points to lead the Boxers and Ethan Chung (Junior/San Ramon, CA) was right behind him with 12 points to his name.

Jacob Bolger (Junior/Portland, OR) just missed a double-double with nine points and eight rebounds, but found himself in foul trouble for majority of the game as he would eventually foul out.

How It Happened

Pacific would manage a decent start, jumping out to a 7-2 lead in the early minutes of the first half. The Boxers would lead for most of the first half but couldn't seem to pull away, and the Bulldogs would tie the score (38-38) going into the break.

The Red and Black kept their foot on the gas in the second half as they quickly found themselves with a seven-point advantage following two free throws and a three-pointer from Mora.

Cayden Wagner (Sophomore/Portland, OR) provided a three ball as well as a layup to make the score 56-48 in favor of the Boxers, but Redlands would continue to hang around as that would be Pacific's largest lead of the day.

With 4:20 left to play, the Bulldogs took the lead and wouldn't look back, rallying for the 76-66 win in Spokane.
