After an exhibition tilt with Warner Pacific, the Pacific Boxers men's soccer team officially opened their spring 2021 season with a road contest Northwest Conference contest against Willamette. The Boxers were unable to get things going and ultimately fell 6-0 in the season opener.
Both teams struggled to find shot a ton of shot opportunities in the first half but Willamette managed to tag the Boxers for a pair of goals and Pacific trailed 2-0 at intermission. The Bearcats added four more goals in the second half for the 6-0 final.
In the loss, the Boxers' lone shot came off the foot of
Mitch Takara, while both
Cole Stritzke and
Connor Matto each saw action at goalie recording four and two saves, respectively.
The Boxers now turn their attention to a Wednesday, March 3rd NWC contest at home against Linfield at 7:00 pm, following the women's contest.
