Men's Soccer Snags First Win In Overtime Tilt With Linfield

Overtime magic for the Pacific men's soccer team gets them in the win column for the first time in the spring of 2021 and marks the first win former Boxer soccer player and new Head Coach, Brandon Porter

After a stalemate in regulation, the Northwest Conference tilt against Linfield went to overtime, and the Boxers just under three minutes into extra time found the back of the net for the first goal of the season and a 1-0 win.

A Braden Kojima cross towards the net by Jericho Lara and found its way into the goal in overtime. Boxers had just four shots in the contest, while Linfield recorded nine.

In the goal, Cole Stritzke finished with the blank sheet as the Boxers stymied the Wildcats through the contest and Stritzke recorded five saves.

The win moves Pacific to 1-1 on the season and extends the teams streak against Linfield of a win or tie for 10-straight games. Both teams will face off again for their next contest coming up on Sunday, March 7th at 5:00 pm in McMinnville.
