Fresh off a win in season opening action the Pacific women's tennis team was back in action over the weekend taking on Lewis & Clark in a pair of matches. The Boxers split the matches falling 6-3 on Saturday on the road in the Conference match, while responding on Sunday to claim a 6-3 win in a non-conference match.
On Saturday the Boxers were led by
Cassidy Binder and Syndie Binder as they both won their singles match and teamed up for a doubles win. Cassidy won 6-1, 6-1 in singles competition, while Syndie won 6-2, 6-0 in singles play, while as a tandem the duo picked up an 8-0 win.
Kailei Eustis put together a strong showing on Saturday but fell 5-7, 6-7 (5-7),
Cara Tamaye battled to the wire but fell 6-7 (4-7), 3-6.
Jessica Eligio and
Gillian Mead were each also in action both suffering losses on Saturday 4-6, 2-6 and 1-6, 1-6, respectively. In doubles action the team of Eligion and Eustis took a 1-8 loss and Tamaye and
Kendall Taomoto fell 3-8.
After a tough loss on Saturday the Boxers were at home against thet Pioneers of Lewis & Clark on Sunday and responded with the 6-3 win.
Boxers took four of the six singles matches on the day as
Cassidy Binder won 8-3, while Syndie Binder earned an 8-0 win.
Cara Tamaye and
Gillian Mead each picked up singles wins, also each winning 8-4. Eligio and Eustis suffered losses in singles competition 1-8 and 3-8, respectively.
Doubles competition on Sunday saw the duo of Cassidy and Syndie Binder win 8-1 and the team of Eustis and Tamaye won 8-3. Eligio and Taomoto dropped a tough match 3-8.
Boxers will continue their season on Saturday, March 27th and Sunday, March 28th with matches against George Fox at home on Satuday and away on Sunday.
