The Boxer women's soccer team played host to Willamette on Sunday and after getting the better of the Bearcats in the season opener it was Willamette getting the better of the Boxers this time as Pacific took the 3-1 loss. 

Willamette got on the board in 12th minute of the contest and the Boxers were playing catch up the rest of the way as the Bearcats added another goal in the first half to make it 2-0. But in the 28th minute of the contest Savannah Grosse found the back of the net for a Boxer goal as Katelyn Volchok found her to get the assist. 

Boxers trailed 2-1 at the half but ultimately were not able to get another goal while the Bearcats pushed another goal in, in the second half to hand Pacific the 3-1 loss. 

In the loss the Boxers out shot Willamette 11-7 with the goal coming from Grosse, while Nayda Ortiz had four shot attempts and Emma Gusman recorded a pair of shots. In the goal, Catherine Corlett tallied four saves. 

Boxers are set to host Lewis & Clark on Wednesday, March 17th at 7:00pm to continue their season with another Northwest Conference matchup.
