Volleyball Improves to 5-0 After 3-0 Road Win Over Linfield

After dispatching the Wildcats of Linfield in three sets on Thursday night at home the Boxers traveled to McMinnville on Friday evening and once again picked up a 3-0 win (25-23, 25-10, 25-21) over Linfield. With the win the Boxers remain unbeaten this spring season improving to 5-0.

The lead changed hands throughout the first set until the Boxers took firm control with a 4-0 run late to go up 23-21 and ultimately scored six of the final seven points in the first set to take it 25-23. Nanea Lum helped the Boxers put the finishing touches on the set with a kill and ace for the final two points.

Set two was 6-1 Boxers quickly with Terina DeFries contributing a pair of aces for Pacific and 5-0 run midway through the set solidify the advantage for the Boxers and ultimately the set 25-10. Set three proved to be tight like set one but the Boxers took the early lead and despite the Wildcats clawing at the lead Boxers answered each time to take the set 25-21 and claim the three-set win.

Jordan Zweifel recorded another double figure kill performance with 15 kills and added eight digs, while Claire Stipsits had another strong showing with eight kills and 11 digs. Shaiane Cambra anchored the setter spot and tallied 21 assists, while Haley Walz had 10 digs. Boxers had seven aces as a team on the night.

Only three matches remain for the Boxers as Pacific will be back in action again on Thursday, March 25th at 7:00pm against Lewis & Clark, then will host the Pioneers the next night and wrap up the spring season on Friday, April 9th at George Fox.
