Pacific Volleyball Falls to Lewis and Clark in Five to End Five-Match Win Streak

The Pacific University volleyball team dropped a 19-25, 27-25, 25-23, 21-25, 13-15 decision to Lewis & Clark Thursday night in Portland.

The Boxers (5-1) had four different players register double doubles in the contest. Jordan Zweifel tallied 16 kills and 13 digs to pace the Boxers. Nanea Lum recorded 18 kills to go along with 10 digs, while freshman Claire Stipsits contributed with 12 kills and 14 digs. Makenna Mahuna also came up with 45 assists and 14 digs in the loss.

After a tightly contested first three sets the Boxers had a 2-1 lead in the match. In the fourth set the Boxers and Pioneers (4-0) found themselves tied at 12 a piece. That is when the Pioneers gain momentum and finished out the 4th set victory on a 13-9 run.
 
In the fifth set Pacific found themselves in an early deficit but fought back and was able to tie the set up at 5 on a kill from Jordan Zweifel. The remainder of the final set was back and forth until Lewis and Clark was able to tally 3 of the last 5 points in a row to close out the match.

Pacific will look to return to its winning ways Friday evening as they have a rematch against the Pioneers that is scheduled to begin at 7 P.M. on the campus of Pacific University.
