The Pacific University women's basketball team was defeated Friday night against Linfield 52-50. The Boxers were able to score 11 of their 50 points off of second chance points.
Pacific was led by guards
Camy Aguinaldo who tallied 14 points and
Brilie Kovaloff who added 10. Post
Alexis Intong, added 9 rebounds to help the Boxers outrebound Linfield 42-36.
Linfield was led in a balanced scoring attack by Jordyn Feinauer who was the only Wildcat to reach double digit points with 11.
Pacific got off to a hot start by scoring the first 7 points of the contest. On the strength of this opening scoring run, Pacific found themselves in the lead 13-7 at the conclusion of the 1
st quarter. Linfield responded in the 2
nd quarter of the contest by holding the Boxers to only 4 points in the quarter. After another hot start for the Boxers in the 3
rd quarter, Linfield was able to go on a 16-2 scoring run. Pacific, showing yet again more resilience, was able to climb back into the game with a 13-0 scoring run that stretched the final three minutes of the 3
rd quarter and into the first two minutes of the 4
th. Following this scoring run, the game was tied at 38. The last eight minutes of the game never saw either team take a lead larger than 3.
The two teams will face one another again on Saturday, April 3
rd with scheduled tip off at 6 p.m. in Forest Grove.
