Boxer Men's Basketball Splits Two Games With Linfield

The Pacific University men's basketball team split two games over the weekend against Linfield. With the win on Saturday night, Justin Lunt was able to pick up his 200th career win.
 
Game one went the way of the Wildcats Friday night in McMinnville 104-74. Pacific was outscored by Linfield 58-29 in the first half. The Boxers were able to outrebound the Wildcats 20 to 7 on the offensive glass.
 
Pacific had four players record double digits offensively. Mario Mora and Ethan Chung each recorded 15 points in the contest. Ethan Moss was able to add 12 points to the Boxers totals while Jacob Bolger added 11 of his own.
 
Prior to game two Saturday night, Pacific took the time to honor four seniors who will be graduating this year, Chris Kobayashi, Mario Mora, Brennen McNabb and Colin Rardin. The celebration included each of their families recording videos while also introducing them as starters for the night's contest.
 
Pacific and Linfield played a close first 16 minutes before Pacific was able to pull away getting the lead up to as much as 15 points with 2:42 remaining in the half. Linfield was able to use a 26-15 run in the first 10 minutes of the second half to take a 1 point lead 69-68. From there, the contest was tight the rest of the way with the win sealed by two Brennen McNabb free throws with 7 seconds left.
 
Pacific was led by Colin Rardin who scored 24 points on 8-14 shooting. Mario Mora and Brennen McNabb each included 14 and 13 points in their final times playing in Forest Grove. The Boxers had 12 different players record points on the evening.
 
Pacific will take the floor next on back-to-back nights against Eastern Oregon University on April 30th and May 1st.
