The Pacific University softball team split the weekend four-game series against Pacific Lutheran University to stay in fourth position in the NWC standings.

The Boxers fell 3-2 in game one following the Lutes putting up 2 runs to take the lead in the top of the 7
th. Pacific got out to a strong start in the top of the 1
st with a
Montana Vaught single that drove in a run. Pacific was led by
Hailey Miller who went 2-3.
Allie Hancock pitched 5 innings allowing 3 hits and no runs.

Pacific responded to the loss with a game two win 4-1. The Boxers again were able to put a run on the board in the first following a
Hailey Miller single.
Nicole Martinez kept the scoring going with an RBI single in the bottom of the second driving in a run to go up 2-0. The Boxers responded to PLU scoring a run in the top of the 6
th by putting two more runs up in the bottom half of the inning. The duo of
Rylee Patton and
Allie Hancock were able to pitch 7 innings while only allowing 6 hits and 1 earned run.

Day two got off to a strong start with the Boxers taking game three 9-5.
Sydney Sahlfeld got the scoring started on Saturday with a 2-run homerun in the second. Pacific used a 7 run 6
th inning to take a 9-3 lead and put the game away. Pacific was led offensively by
Kylee Ancheta-Maeda who went 2 for 3 and
Sydney Sahlfeld who had 4 RBI's.
Allie Hancock pitched a complete game giving up 3 earned runs  while striking out 6.

Game four went the way of the Lutes 15-3. The Boxers used 8 different pitchers in the contest. Offensively, Pacific had 3 different players,
Kiana Kushiyama,
Jill Uyeda and
Marcee Nakamura record an RBI.

The Boxers take the field next on May 1
st to start a 4-game series against Lewis and Clark.
