The Pacific University women's tennis team dropped two matches over the weekend to Whitworth. Only Saturday's match counted for the NWC standings.

In the first match on Saturday, Pacific got out to a good start winning in #1 doubles, 8-5, with the team of
Cassidy Binder and
Sydnie Binder. Pacific would drop the next two doubles matches.Â
Jessica Eligio and
Kendall Taomoto at the #2 spot andÂ
Kailei Eustis and
Cara Tamaye at #3.

The Binder sisters kept their winning ways going with Cassidy claiming the win at #1 singles 6-0, 6-1 and Sydnie following at #2 6-3, 6-0. Eligio and Eustis would each drop their matches before a tight loss occurred at the #5 singles spot with
Cara Tamaye. Tamaye would fall in a tiebreaking 3
rd set.
Gillian Mead had a hard fought loss at #6 singles to close out the match.

Pacific started day two stronger in the non-conference matchup between the same two teams. The Binder sisters cruised to an 8-0 victory while Eligio and Tamaye won 8-6 at the #2 spot. Eustis and Mead paired up for the #3 doubles falling 8-2 to the Pirates.

Needing to keep the momentum going in singles play,
Cassidy Binder and
Sydnie Binder, each claimed an 8-2 victory to secure 4 points in the match. Pacific was unable to secure one more point therefore falling to Whitworth in the last four singles matches.

Pacific next takes the court on May 1
st in a NWC matchup at Whitman College.
