The Pacific University baseball team defeated Willamette 15-6 on Saturday to win the NWC Championship and earned an automatic bid to the Super Regional round of the NCAA Division III National Tournament. The win on Saturday earns the Boxers NWC champion honors for the first time since 1979.

The Boxers got off to a quick start in the championship game putting up 5 runs in each of the first two innings. The scoring in the first inning was highlighted by a
Jordan Hara RBI double, a 3-run triple from
Tanner Johnson and a
Brandon Silowka RBI single. The second inning scoring came from an
Isaac Lovings 2 RBI triple and a
Tyler Quinn 3 RBI homerun. The Boxers finished the game with 3 different players having multi hit.Â

The Boxers used 6 different pitchers in the contest who combined to surrender 14 hits, 6 earned runs and 4 strikeouts.
