SAINT PAUL, Minn.- The Pacific University volleyball team fell to Wisconsin- Stevens Point and Bethel University in non-conference action at the Kathryne Pals Legacy Invitational hosted by University of Northwestern.
In the match against Wisconsin- Stevens Point, the Boxers were unable to get in a rhythm offensively, collecting 22 kills to the Pointers 39.
Haley Walz (Tucson, AZ) and
Allie Hertager (Medford, OR) led the way defensively for the Boxers with 11 and 10 digs, respectively. Freshman
Mara Murphy (Salt Lake City, UT) tallied three block assists in the match.
The second match of the day proved to be a better showing for the Boxer offense despite the 0-3 loss. The Boxers collected 32 kills in the match, 15 of which came in the final set. Once again, Walz led the Boxers in the dig column with a match high 14 digs. In her first complete match as a Boxer,
Emily Cheavtharn (Salem, OR) tallied 24 assists and eight digs.
The Boxers will return to the Stoller Center on Friday evening as they take on Illinois College in their home opener. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
