How It Happened
Pacific found the shooting stroke from beyond the arc in the first half as they connected on seven of its 13 attempts. Paired with some solid defense that held the Pioneers to just 31% from the floor, the Boxers opened up a 13-point lead before the break.
Forest Grove's team continued to light it up in the second half by shooting over 40% from deep. Cattell got things started by nailing a three to extend the lead. A short spurt from the hosts allowed the Pioneers to claw within eight points but the Boxers quickly replied with five straight points from
Antoine Stitt to restore their advantage. Pacific led by as many as 21 but eventually cruised to the 85-72 victory to begin their conference schedule
