NEW ORLEANS, La.- Four student-athletes of Pacific Track and Field received All-Region recognition from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Naomi Johnson, and
Emily Rutkowski represent the Boxers in the West Region of Division III.

Dominic Funk finished 10
th nationally in the javelin as the school record holder enjoyed a fantastic junior season. His throw of 64.56m at the George Fox Final Qualifier on May 19 landed him at the national meet in Geneva, Ohio, where he locked up a top-10 national ranking.
Kara Putman also capped off an impressive junior campaign by clocking a stellar time of 38:00.10 in the 10,000m race where she finished as the Northwest Conference runner-up. She was an NCAA National Championship qualifier in cross-country this fall after winning the NWC 6k championship race, and was a runner-up in both the 10k and 5k at the NWC Outdoor Track and Field Championships. She is a member of the school record-holding Distance Medley Relay team and her name appears all over the Pacific top-10 record lists. Putman ranks third all-time on Pacific's all-time list for the 6,000m cross country race, is ranked fifth in both the mile and 3,000m on Pacific's Indoor Track top-10 list, and is ranked fourth in the 5,000m and second in the 10,000m on Pacific Women's Outdoor Track top-10 list.

Naomi Johnson took second place at the NWC Championships with her toss of 41.253. This garnered All-West Region honors from the USTFCCCA.
Emily Rutkowski earns All-Region for the first time after her lifetime best time of 1:05.48 in the 400m hurdles. This gave her a second-place finish at the Portland Distance Carnival on May 14.
