FOREST GROVE, Ore.- The Pacific University men's soccer team opened the 2022 non-conference schedule with a 2-1 loss against Evergreen State College. The Geoducks were efficient on the offensive end, scoring twice on their four total shots on the evening.
Top Performers
Jayden Adkison was the lone Boxer who found the back of the net on the evening, converting his only shot he attempted in the 44 minutes that he was on the pitch.
Nico Allen was able to take four shots with half of them on frame.
How It Happened
The Geoducks controlled the game from the start when they scored on a corner kick six minutes into the contest on a well-placed header. The visitors were able to keep the offensive pressure on when they pushed the score to 2-0 when Jesus Flores got free on the back post.
The Boxers were able to slow the offensive attack by gaining the majority of possession to start the second half. Starting to find offensive success the Boxers were able to put multiple crosses in front of the goal giving them scoring opportunities but none were able to be converted.
Jericho Lara and Allen each had shots that were on frame but were saved by the Geoducks keeper. The Boxers were finally able to put one away on the offensive end when Adkison was able to become unmarked by his defender on the back post resulting in the goal. The comeback attempt ran out of time however resulting in the 2-1 win for the visitors.

The Boxers will look to pick up their first win of the season on Sunday, Sept. 4 with a 3 P.M. contest at home against Northwest University.
