WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Pacific had two breakthroughs Saturday night at Whitman.
The Boxers won 3-2 to snap a seven-match losing streak. Pacific also won its first five-set match of the season.
The Boxers, who were 0-4 in five-set matches, got off to a strong start, winning the first set 25-20. However, the Blues answered with 25-19, 25-16 victories to take a 2-1 lead.
Pacific cruised to a 25-14 win in the fourth set to extend the match and then carried over that momentum to a 15-7 victory in the fifth.
Mara Murphy and
Alison Brown led Pacific's attack, finishing with 19 and 18 kills, respectively.
Anneke Hanson had 10 kills and six blocks.
Kayla Craft recorded six aces and six blocks.
Danica Nelson added 16 digs.
Emily Cheavtharn had 39 assists and seven digs.
Next, the Boxers host Linfield Friday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. inside the Stoller Center.
