Pacific's women's and men's swim teams competed in the Bruin Invitational on Dec. 2 at George Fox.
Leading the women,
Jazmyn Capron-Graves, Anne-Marie Grieder-Jacobs,
Allison Simon and
Alex Moehnke teamed up to place sixth in the 200 free relay with a time of 1 minute, 44.17 seconds. Capron-Graves placed 12th in the 100 fly with a personal best time, while teammate Maddie Russell finished 16th.
For the men,
Capone Delgadillo finished 15th in the 100 fly. In the men's 200 breast,
Vinh Pham placed 12th. Simon placed eighth in the 200 breast with a time of 2:46.35 and teammate
Nicole Louie's lifetime best placed her 11th.
"The Boxer swimmers swam great on day one of the 2023 Bruin Invitational," Pacific head coach
Beth Whittle said. "Not only did our team shine with almost everyone qualifying for finals (top-16), many of our swimmers achieved personal best times. It was exciting to see outstanding results mid-season, and just a glimpse of the success that is to come at the NWC Championships in February."
The women's 200 backstroke proved to be a strong event for the Boxers, with Moehnke placing fifth with a lifetime best of 2:15.60, followed by Grieder Jacobs finishing eighth in 2:28.53.
Delgadillo was a finalist in the 100 free, placing 16th.
The Boxer women also had a strong showing in the 100 free. Capron-Graves raced to sixth place in 57.05 while teammate
Kenzie Brennan placed eighth in 58.00. Moehnke finished 10th and Grieder-Jacobs took 16th.Â
In the women's 200 IM, Russell placed 16th.
Warrick Bottai raced to a 14th place finish in the 500 free.
Grieder-Jacobs, Brennan, Moehnke and Capron-Graves teamed up for sixth place in the 400 medley relay, finishing in 4:20.69.Â
The Boxers will next compete on January 13th vs. Linfield University at home.
