CHICAGO -- Pacific recorded a convincing 25-15 win in the third set to avoid the sweep. But the Boxers couldn't carry over the momentum into the fourth, falling 3-1 (16-25, 16-25, 25-15, 18-25) Saturday in their final match of the North Park Invite.
Pacific finished 0-4 in the season-opening volleyball tournament.
After falling to the University of Wisconsin-River Falls 3-0 (11-25, 8-25, 21-25) and host North Park 3-1 (22-25, 25-21,16-25, 14-25) on Friday, the Boxers played their tightest match of the two-day tournament Saturday morning.
Pacific won the first set 25-19. After Westminster evened the match with a 25-18 victory, the Blue Jays took the third and fourth, both 26-24, to win 3-1.
Junior
Danica Nelson, who recorded 72 digs, was named to the North Park Invite All-Tournament Team.
The Boxers will play in the Oregon Trail Classic beginning Thursday at 7 p.m. against Schreiner University inside the Stoller Center.
